My lifelong struggle with falling and staying asleep, has excitedly led me to try anything that promises a peaceful night’s sleep where I don’t wake up at 3 a.m. When offered the opportunity to try Hilma’s Sleep Support ($22) supplement I was ecstatic that it didn’t have melatonin which tends to set off sleep paralysis. When sleep paralysis occurs, my entire body (including my eyelids) can’t move but my mind is wide awake. It’s a terrifying experience every time it happens.
Fortunately, Sleep Support’s simple ingredient list contains powerful ingredients that claim to help with quickly falling asleep (L-Theanine), staying asleep (Reishi Mushroom), improving my quality of sleep (Passionflower), and regulating my circadian rhythm (Magnesium Glycinate). Unlike some sleep medications (benzodiazepines and Z-drugs) that can lead to dependence with prolonged use, Hilma’s Sleep Support is non habit forming when used as directed — take two capsules 30-60 minutes before going to bed.
Hilma Sleep Support Supplement Review
I decided to try Sleep Support on a Monday night. I took two capsules (as directed) about 30 minutes before I went to bed. It knocked me out FAST. I woke up to my morning alarm not feeling groggy or shocked out of a deep sleep. I even slept for six-and-a-half hours (my average is five). Best of all, I slept through the night without sleep paralysis at any point.
I took Sleep Support everyday for the remainder of the week to see how my body would feel using it regularly. Towards the end of the week, I woke up in the middle of the night two nights in a row. But, after taking a week off from these supplements I tried it again and ended up sleeping through the night again.
My conclusion? Hilma’s Sleep Support supplements aren’t habit forming as claimed and are great for nights when I just can’t seem to fall asleep on my own. These have earned a permanent space in my medicine cabinet. If you want to give Sleep Support a try, check out Hilma’s website here.
