At Winterlust Taos 2022, we yoked the yin of practice with the yang of adventure…
We embraced the exhilaration of chill as well as the warmth of the fireplace with friends. Between all these polarities, we were invited to find *presence* by our gifted guides: Elena Brower, Gina Caputo, Donovan McGrath of Amplified Yoga and Nicole Meline. Our hosts, Taos Ski Valley, rolled out a snowy white carpet, complete with exclusive first tracks on the mountain and evening ice skates made memorable (in 80s ski gear) and musical (thanks to our brilliant Silent Disco DJs).
Through the generosity of our presenting partner, Ricola, we had our very own on-mountain home at the Ricola chalet, where we enjoyed food, festivities, and our practice, giving us alpine views for our drishti each morning, and a hygge-inspired family-style dining experience on our peak evening.
Hearing the shoosh of our pro ski instructor, Amie Engerbretson, or the hush of the bow on GarthStevenson’s stand-up double bass… they are things more felt than heard.
And this is the beauty of Winterlust: the feast for the senses is that which you experience, marrying contemplative practice with all-out adventure. We pushed new boundaries and made new friends… and we can’t wait to do it again.
