Plus, Charlotte Tilbury’s eyeshadow singles are a gilded dream.
Consonant launches a cleansing oil
A good facial cleanser should be the backbone of any skincare routine. If your pores aren’t totally clean, other products just won’t work as well and you’ll be prone to breakouts. All-natural Canadian skincare brand Consonant’s latest formula, Makeup Removing Cleansing Oil, turns into a cleansing milk when emulsified with water and harnesses the power of jojoba and sunflower oils as well as plant-derived squalane to thoroughly dissolve and wash away sunscreen, stubborn waterproof makeup and excess sebum. And the best part is that it doesn’t leave any oily residue and can be used on all skin types — yes, even acne-prone ones.
Charlotte Tilbury drops stunning eyeshadow singles
Palettes are great if you’re looking for multiple shades in one place, but oftentimes eyeshadow singles just can’t be beat (like when you want to experiment with only one new shade or finish, you need a compact essential to fit in your clutch for on-the-go touch-ups or a single wash of colour on your lids is simply more your makeup vibe). Whatever your reasoning, Charlotte Tilbury’s Hypnotising Pop Shot eyeshadows are sure to pack a punch. Available in seven highly pigmented shades, this formula comes in two different finishes: sparkle and chrome.
vitruvi and Mejuri collaborate on a luxury diffuser
When CEOs and co-founders Sara Panton of vitruvi and Noura Sakkijha of Mejuri realized that their online communities overlapped, collaboration felt like a natural next step. The result is a vitruvi x Mejuri diffuser that looks like a jewel box (the Move Cordless Essential Oil Diffuser in Gold, $182), plus an essential oil (the Sèjour Essential Oil Blend, $32) that will become Mejuri’s signature scent across all stores. The fragrance profile includes notes of bergamot, geranium, vetiver, vanilla and frankincense and is meant to create a space that makes you want to linger. (It’s bad news for your credit card but good news for your state of mind.)
Attitude releases Oceanly, a solid, plastic-free skincare line
In a world first, Attitude has released an entire range of solid face-care products. That means that the Oceanly collection has no cream or gel formulas. Instead, each item from the 19-piece lineup of cleansers, serums, face creams, masks and sunscreens comes in a solid push-up format (much like a sunscreen stick or solid deodorant) that you sweep across your face. Not only are the products made from innovative, marine-sourced ingredients, but they’re also packaged in biodegradable cardboard, making them 100-per-cent plastic-free.
Canadian fragrance designer Ruby Brown partners with Germain Hotels
Ruby Brown’s latest collection is a partnership with another Canadian powerhouse: Marie Pier Germain, vice president of Germain Hotels. Together, they created The Amber Collection, the first signature scent of the family-owned hotels, which includes Le Germain Hotels, Alt Hotels and Escad Hotels across the country. Genderless, nourishing and infused with notes of hemp and amber, the four-piece made-in-Canada range includes a shampoo, conditioner, bath and shower gel and scented candle and is now available on simons.ca.
Osea creates a vagus nerve bath oil for total relaxation
The vagus nerve, a.k.a. the 10th cranial nerve, reaches all the way from the brain to the gut. It’s part of the parasympathetic nervous system and has the ability to regulate stress. If you have high vagal nerve tone, that means you’re able to relax quickly after stressful moments… and Osea wants to improve that ability with its Vagus Nerve Collection. Already comprised of a Vagus Nerve Pillow Mist and Vagus Nerve Oil, the line has just launched its Vagus Nerve Bath Oil, which is designed to soothe the mind and body with chamomile, juniper berry, lavender, lemon tea tree and Moroccan rosemary. So next time you feel anxious or overwhelmed, draw a bath, add some bath oil and breathe deep.
Naturally Serious gets into the vitamin C game
Ask any dermatologist what ingredients you should add into your routine and, without fail, they’ll list the holy trifecta: retinol, sunscreen and vitamin C. There are two big benefits of vitamin C; it acts as an antioxidant to protect your skin against environmental damage and it’s a brightener, so it makes uneven skin look more radiant. With the new Naturally Serious C Your Glow Vitamin C Radiance Oil, you get highly potent 2 per cent THD Ascorbate Vitamin C along with botanicals and extracts that smooth fine lines and soothe irritation. It’s the perfect choice for anyone with sensitive skin who finds other vitamin C products too irritating.
